JBI CENTER OF EVIDENCE-BASED EDUCATION & ARTS THERAPIES
The JBI Center for Evidence-based Education and Arts Therapies was established at the Faculty of Education of Palacký University in Olomouc in 2021. This Center is part of the international organization JBI (formerly the Joanna Briggs Institute) and in January 2025 achieved the status of a JBI Center of Excellence (although the new internal structure in JBI no longer distinguishes affiliated groups and centers of excellence).
The JBI Center specializes in pedagogy, special education and arts therapy. It focuses on the creation of systematic reviews (SR) - using exclusively exact scientific methods for identifying, selecting, evaluating and synthesizing the results of research studies. Furthermore, the center focuses on the creation of recommended practices and the implementation of the best scientific evidence into practice. Since this is the first application of the GRADE methodology for the creation of recommended practices and the JBI implementation methodology to pedagogy and arts therapies, our intention is also to find out how these methodologies can be best applied in pedagogical fields and arts therapies.
The center cooperates with the National Institute for Quality and Excellence in Healthcare NIKEZ, which also includes The Czech Republic JBI Centre of Excellence, Cochrane Czech Republic and the Czech GRADE Network.
